With the famous 'Black Square' of Kazimir Malevich in mind, every now and then, I like to turn to basic fundamentals using black and white paint only. In the same way as in photography, the pureness of a design can be extremely appealing and certain images sometimes appear much stronger without colors.


In the colorless geometric abstraction area, I am a great admirer of the black and white paintings by Bridget Riley, Sol LeWitt and François Morellet, amongst others.



Again, I like to emphasise that the way this painting is executed with nothing but spray cans without using masking tape is unparalelled. 


For anyone trying to unravel the applied technique, the detail of this particular painting slightly unveiling its structure could be a first useful indication...
